“Dr. Catherine Buettner of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston studied 12,807 men and women and found blood lead levels about 10 percent higher in women, but not men, who used specific herbal supplements.”

One of the problems with herbal supplements is many of them contain lead.  Some contain lead and steroids.  Dr. Nandkishor Managoli from India was the doctor that gave me this information.

Dr Managoli has spent years developing and testing herbal supplements. None of the products he has developed contain either lead or steroids.  He has eliminated the things that may be bad or harmful in herbs and then done extensive tests to make sure they work properly.

Do any of you use herbal supplements?  Which ones do you like the best?

SHOULD INSURANCE COMPANIES COVER PRAYER?

Posted January 7th, 2010 by TKarl. Comment (0).

“The Christian Science church is seeking to insert a measure in the Senate’s health care legislation that would encourage private insurance companies to cover prayer and spiritual treatment of the sick.”

I don’t know the cost of a prayer  or spiritual treatment, but it makes for an interesting debate.

What is your opinion?  How much do you think an insurance should pay for a prayer?

Attilio D’Alberto the Editor of Chinese Medicine Times sent me an article entitledNew scientific breakthrough proves why acupuncture works.”

A paragraph near the end of the article says,

“This seems to prove that we have a light transferal system in our body somewhat like optical fiber. It appears that the light can even travel when the light canal is bent, or totally twisted. The light appears to be reflected from the inner surface, appearing to go in some sort of zigzag track. You can explain this through traditional electromagnetic light theory as it is used in optical fiber communications.”

I became fascinated with this thought because I had always thought that these pathways through our bodies contained electrical impulses and now I was having to think of optical fibers carrying light through them.

I did not know know what the traditional electromagnetic light theory was so I looked it up.  There was an article I found about this theory published by Integrated Publishing that was used in an Electrical Engineering Training Series.  It told a lot of interesting things about the theory.

MERIDIANS CONDUCT LIGHT
by Dr. Sergei Pankratov, Moskow
Published by Raum and Zeit, Germany, 1991
Translated from the German by Wolfgang Mitschrich

http://www.photonstimulator.com/Article%20Russian.htm

In this study they found that light is conducted along the traditional Chinese acupuncture points that had been used for generations.  I quote bits and pieces of this article as follows:

“Suddenly the experimenters registered a light signal, a small speck of light on a place that was not light up (about 10cm. away from the lit area).”

“White light (a mixture of all colors) travels the best. Then comes red and blue. Green light travels the least. It’s signal is considerably weaker.”

The article then discussed that even plants can transfer light.

I found this all very interesting and being a believer in God, the Father and in His Son Jesus Christ, I turned to the scriptures.

“I am the true light that lighteth every man that cometh into the world. (D&C 92:2) and another one said, “This is the light of Christ.  As also he is in the sun, and the light of the sun, and the power thereof by which it was made. (D&C 88:7)

So now science has found that all of us have light running through our bodies.

Perhaps we are the “children of Light.”  That great Light in the heaven above … Our Father.

HOW FAST ARE YOU GETTING BEHIND?

This video was sent to me the other day and it deserves some thought.  Our world is moving so fast, I was thinking that the faster I go the farther I get behind.

Have a look and see for yourself.  I would love to know what you think.

HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR PERFORMANCE

This is one of my favorite quotes by Thomas Monson:

“When we deal in generalities we shall never succeed.  When we deal in specifics we shall rarely have a failure.  When performance is measured, performance imporves.  And when performance is measured and reported, the rate of improvement accelerates.”

BYU FOOTBALL

Saturday:  BYU vs Colorado State -- What  a beautiful day for a football game.  The game started out in the 80′s and ended up in the 70′s.  Peggy & I, our son’s, Seth & John and grandson’s Kaylor, Issac, Dalton & Parker and my brother Alan were all there.

We visited with friends at large tailgate party and ate good food.  Ate nummy ice cream during the game.  The mountains around the stadium were dotted in fall colors.  Not a cloud in the sky.  BYU won!  A perfect game day.

A GREAT MOTIVATIONAL TALK

BYU fans take notice!  You may have cause to worry.  There is a big football game tomorrow featuring Florida State University.  You may be interested in the talk Bobby Bowden gave to the Florida State player last year.  On the Florida State official athletic site it says:  “What Bobby Bowden means to Florida State University off the playing field cannot be measured: Respect, sincerity, class, honesty, charisma, charm and humor.”  Coach Bowden is the winningest coach in the history of major college football.  At the end of the 2008 season his career record was 373-119-4 for a .756 winning percentage.

AYURVEDA – THE ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE

Posted September 15th, 2009 by TKarl. Comment (0).

My experience with statin drugs has not been a good one.  After having a heart attack my doctor put me on one of the well know statin drugs to lower my cholesterol.  This resulted in my shoulders hurting so much that I could not sleep on either one of them.  A specialist told me the drug was causing me significant muscle damage and that I should stop taking them.  My cardiologist did not want me to stop.  I decided that I needed to be in charge of my health … so I stopped!

My interest in alternative medicine then began.  I now take an herbal supplement for lowering my cholesterol and it has helped me lower my LDL and raise my HDL without the terrible side effects.  Another benefit is that it lowered my triglycerides significantly.

This is an interesting video I found about alternative medicine:
